Trevor + Shelby | Dickson, TN | Wooded Wedding

May 22, 2019

It feels like summer out already. I’m not complaining but I would be lying if I didn’t admit it has me missing fall as I battle ticks and sweat rolling down my back. All the beautiful golden colors and cool breezes are my favorite. And my fall brides. Fall brides always seem to be so chill and ready to just soak up the day. I am missing last years brides. I am always so sad when I deliver a final gallery. I am thinking of randomly sending photos of sweet tea or french fries. You know just to keep connected because I miss them.

So here is a throw back to last November. Mainly because I have been dying to share how special this day was. And two because I miss these awesome people. Every single person at this wedding. Thankfully we are meeting up soon for family photos. I hope they are ready for big ‘ol squeeze hugs.

Trevor and Shelby planned the perfect wooded wedding at Cactus Creek barn in Dickson, TN. The day was so perfectly them and every detail had meaning or significance. They met in college. Shelby says that when they met Trevor was more interested in her dog then her. She’s still not sure if he proposed to marry her or if it was for Lola. They both have grown up jobs they love. Really cool jobs. I told them they were both way to cool for me and I just hope they don’t figure it out. Pinterest would describe them as bohemian but its just who they are. Not a style they are trying to portray or an image they want to be seen as. Just them living their best life.

Their day was filled with so many personal details and done their way that it really is hard to share it all in a blog post. From a Man of honor, a best woman, grandmothers as flower girls, bat earrings and socks for her Dad. Bat earrings? Yes, her Mom gifted them to her. You see Shelby studies bats and I think that is the coolest thing ever. She gets to go on adventures and hikes for work. Socks for her Dad? Now if I remember correctly this was because he forgot socks on his wedding day to Shelby’s Mom.

All the signs created were done by Shelby. The ferns for decor perfectly represent their love for the outdoors. Ceremony by the creek made them feel at home and provided a place they will want to remember. It simply was the most incredible day so perfectly Trevor and Shelby.

Brides take a lesson from Trevor and Shelby. When planning your wedding make sure every detail says something about you. Don’t worry about what social media tells you it should look like. And most importantly surround yourself with the most amazing people in your life who will celebrate you and create wonderful memories while making sure your day is perfectly yours.

Not shown because I think we need a whole separate blog for details is flannel blankets for guests, a dog treat favor table for guests featuring images of Lola and the coolest wedding sign that was a tall pine tree sketch.
