Evan and Katie have one of those love stories movies are made of. You know the kind where the small town girl falls in love with the neighbor boy. They spend years thinking how gross each other are and then suddenly they realize they are meant to be together. Katie’s mom and Evan’s parents were friends since the first grade. Evan’s dad would later in life help Katie’s mom get a job at a company where she would meet Katie’s dad. Actually, Katie’s parents’ first date would be at Evan’s parents’ home. So growing up the two families spent vacations together, weekends hanging out, and the kids were always at each other’s homes.

Around the age of 16, Evan and Katie would plan a date and see how that went. Now I am told Evan stood her up. Katie says this is one of their biggest laughs together. Thankfully, at some point Evan did not stand Katie up for a date, and we all got to witness the amazing union of these two.

Their love of family is the most important thing to them, and this was evident in every moment of their day. From first looks with not only her dad but her brother, father-in-law, and mother-in-law too. Each person stepping in the room only to be stopped in their tracks by her beauty and their love for her. Evan even took his sister and Katie’s best friend to pick out the ring. It was so amazing and perfect for Katie. She wanted an oval like her mom’s, and that was all he knew.

This couple is so perfect for each other. I love the way they are uniquely their own and come together for all the important things. Katie loves everything girly, sparkly, and shiny. Evan prefers sports stores and Cardinals apparel. Katie listens to country and pop, while Evan likes hard rock. That kind of made me giggle. Katie’s dream date would be to New York, and well you can probably guess, Evan just would love a Cardinals game with his wife by his side. Everything about this couple says I love you for you and I appreciate our differences while you nurture who I am as well. Gosh y’all, my heart just exploded with the thought and care they have for each other.

Their wedding day was so sweet and elegant. Every detail was put into place by a family member. They spent months painting everything rose gold to match Katie’s vision. The sign leading to the ceremony was created by her great grandfather with shutters from his old house, which Katie grew up across the street from her whole life. The arbor was built by her PawPaw, her mother’s dad. The groom’s cousin provided the vintage truck for the getaway, and the floral designs were by the groom’s aunt. My team and I were blown away when we were told her family did all this on their own. Katie was so appreciative. She was not demanding or worrying if everything was perfect. She was simply just so thankful for each and every person and even the smallest task completed. The day was so full of love you couldn’t help but love each person you spoke to. I will leave you to see the photos and live this day with us again. One of my favorite moments was when the families locked arms and walked down the aisle as one big family. What more could a couple want than a family that is fully there to support and encourage them.
