This year is starting out with a lot of rain. Rain doesn’t ruin a wedding day. Not for Austin and Kimberly. They just rolled with it. Smiling and enjoying every moment of their day. Embracing the rain drops, mud, and even a last minute indoor ceremony. Kimberly even agreed to walk in the wet grass and mud for some beautiful rainy day photos.
All of my communication from the start was with Kimberly’s mom Dana. We chatted a few times, and then later, the couple along with their family decided that God sent us to each other. It was a perfect match. I met them for their engagement session, and we hit it off famously. Of course like most couples they warned me they are not good at pictures. So not true. Plus Austin brought his super awesome Mustang. I wish I could remember the year but I would be lying if I said I knew. I just know it’s cool. Fast forward to week of wedding. I receive an email from Dana saying she hopes I find them to be fun people who just want to enjoy the day. That I did!
My team and I arrived at the Comfort Suites to meet up with Kimberly and her bride tribe. Y’all, we entered the room and it was the sweetest, most relaxed group of girls along with her mom Dana. You know I hugged Kimberly and then hugged her Momma. It was like we hit the jack pot for our first wedding of the year. The sweetest and most stunning ladies.
Once the ladies were ready, we headed over to the Wild Turkey Ranch for first looks with Kimberly’s daddy and then her hubby-to-be Austin. Y’all first looks with Dad need to be tradition that we keep. I cry every time. Especially if Daddy cries. I didn’t have that for my own wedding, and it wouldn’t have been as emotional, but goodness gracious I am a fan! During Austin’s first look he just could not quit smiling. His grin was so big it could light up a room. What I love about first looks is although some think it will take away from the ceremony, it doesn’t. As Kimberly entered the aisle to walk to Austin he got choked up. Something he had not done during the first look. I will NEVER push a couple to do a first look, but if you want one I am on board all the way. Especially if you let us keep it very private so it gives you a few moments alone during a crazy busy day.
Of course due to the lovely spring rains of Tennessee, they had made the decision to move their ceremony indoors the night before. You know how I am always saying I get to work with the most amazing people. Well it’s true. All hands were on deck. The night before everything was changed, and the hall looked so beautiful for the ceremony and reception. Oh now I am thinking about the cakes they had. They had Nothing Bundt Cakes for their wedding cake and individual cakes for guests. Yummm!
Where was I? Oh yes, telling you about how amazing this sweet family was. I love when families come together as one. This day was truly about Austin and Kimberly. From Austin’s Mom and step mom holding hands for photos to all the friends that showed up to make sure everything was perfect for them.
